The research centers CIC nanoGUNE and the Donostia International Phyisics Center (DIPC) launched the nanoKOMIK project in 2016 and 2017 to communicate the advances taking place in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology, creating a participatory nanofiction comic.
The outcomes of the nanoKOMIK project have been twofold. First, the more than 170 works in Basque, Spanish, French and English submitted to the two rounds of the nanoKOMIK challenge. In these, the participants brought their own comic superheroines or superheroes to life, endowing them with nanopowers which draw on the surprising properties that matter acquires through nanotechnology.
Second, the comics Dayanne and Murillo: The Power of Nanoscience, and Nanokomik#2. These comics have been put together based on the best ideas from the comics entered into the challenge, and can be read on this website. The travelling exhibition of these collective comics will visit different cities throughout the year.
